The photo is of our first residence in La Pine Oregon, a little town in Central Oregon just south of Bend.Time
It was around 8 am on a very cold, crisp, winter morningLighting
I find the lighting in Oregon enchanting. The sun angle in the area in winter is always quite low due to our proximity to the 45th parallel. This fact along with the trees and clouds create beautiful shadow play.Equipment
I used a Nikon film camera and later scanned the finished picture to digital format. I used a Nikor 28-80 lens, hand held.Inspiration
It was our first snow in Oregon since we moved from Wyoming. I was struck with the difference. In Oregon the snow actually falls rather than being blown horizontally. It always reminds me of a Christmas card. That is what I felt taking this picture. The contrasts, the lighting and the cottage would have made a perfect Christmas card.Editing
I scanned from photo to digital and color corrected for the scan. It was an early try but I was lucky it turned out wellIn my camera bag
Inow have a Nikon D80, a 80-300 Tamaron telephoto lense, 28-80 Nikor a 80-200 f2 Nikor and a Nikor 50mm. I prefer to hand hold, but as I reach my 70s I shake more and need a tripod. Most of my ealier photos are hand held .Feedback
