Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in South Alabama in a field beside the house where I grew up on on County Road 474 in Kinston, Alabama.

Time

I took it around the middle of the day, there was storm clouds over head and wind blowing.

Lighting

I actually managed to get this one with my Sony Cybershot at the time and the I raised the highlights and darkened the shadows in windows photo editor.

Equipment

I used a Sony Cybershot digital camera at the time with a Carl Zeiss lens.

Inspiration

I was just walking around with my sister and saw her looking off at the storm clouds coming and thought it was the perfect moment to snap this photo.

Editing

At the time I took this picture I did not have a digital SLR camera. I used the processing in the windows photo editor to finish the image by raising the highlights and darkening the shadows and also the contrast.

In my camera bag

Today, I normally carry my Canon 70D body. I have a sigma 18-35 f1.8, a 50mm 1.8, a 70-300mm, and an 18-135mm. I have a Canon speedlight 430 exiii.

Feedback

The best way to get an image like this is on a windy day when they are not posing for the image but being natural.
