Location
I took this photo very close to a place where I used to live in Copenhagen.Time
I took the photo around 11 in the evening. As I wanted to get the feel of the metro passing I used a tripod and long exposure. It took several trials, but when I got this one, I knew it's the one.Lighting
The light is coming from the surrounding streets lamps and the passing metro. I usually prefer not to intervene with the surroundings.Equipment
I used my old Canon 550 d with a standard tamron lens. To get some light in the middle of the night it is taken on a tripod.Inspiration
The year I moved to Copenhagen I decided to keep myself busy and started a self-project, where I had to take a photo a day for a year. As some days I was busy doing other things I ended up wondering around the city just before midnight searching for the shot of the day. This project really thought me to see beauty and potential in the most everyday objects and places.Editing
I all ways like to use some post-processing to give that feeling of environment that camera fails to capture. In this case I chose to intensify contrasts and make it black and white to get a more dramatic look, that i thought was more fitting to the image. In my camera bag
I usually use my Canon 5d III, with a classic 24-85 mm lens and I like to have my flash with me at all times, as you can never know when it can come in-handy.Feedback
Copenhagen is a very diverse city and can offer a lot of different photo opportunities. One thing I love about it is the minimalistic, concrete structures as they all ways work well in photos.
