Location
This photo was taken at the Botanical Garden in Balboa Park in San Diego.Time
I believe this image was taken close to the morning. I remember my friend and I had dedicated a weekend to visit all the museums and constantly kept missing out on seeing the Botanical Garden so on a Sunday morning, I went over there as I waited for my friend to arrive to Balboa Park since I got there much earlier than I intended.Lighting
Nothing special was done since the sun's natural light did enough for this photo.Equipment
I used my point-and-shoot camera. Sadly, I have yet to acquire a dSLR camera despite having the know-how to use them.Inspiration
Nothing elegant. I simply liked the giant lotus flowers in the large koi pond. There were many lotus blooms so I took photos of them all. One lotus bloom even has a bee sampling the pollen which make that particular photographic composition especially fun to take..Editing
Nope, the image was a product straight from my camera. With my point-and-shoot camera, I have been known to snap close to if not more than 1,000 photos in a single span of 8 hours which leads to my less than enthusiastic approach to not editing photos since there can be up to 100 photos of the same subject. In my camera bag
Lots of memory cards and batteries, enough to replace 3 or 4 sets if dead batteries in my camera.Feedback
Know where your lotus flowers are. Know the level of quality if photos shot with both optical zoom and digital zoom. Its important to know what your camera can and can't do. When shooting photos of items in large bodies of water, always be conscientious of how reflections appear. Don't be afraid to get close to the water's edge and try getting on your knees to eliminate bad water reflections or to capture your subject better. Moving around and taking photos if your subject on different angles and locations are better than not having any explorations and variances. Some of my best shots with the camera didn't look as great by eye/in person.
