I love that you are down on her level looking at the world from her point of view. Now I remember why everything looked so much bigger when I was her age! Well composed! Thanks for contributing!!

I also love your viewpoint. I like the amount of sharp focus you keep in this image. It makes me want to "read into this story".

Beautiful colours Wayne, a superb capture. Where is she she going? Why? Whats got her attention? Makes the mind ponder.

Location
This image was captured while on a family holiday in Asturias which is in the north of Spain. The girl in the picture is my niece and I was fortunate to be able to take this photo of her while we were in a restaurant for a family lunch. She was completely unaware that I was taking a photo of her.Time
It was late afternoon. The restaurant was about to close until the evening so we were the last people to dine hence all the empty chairs and tables in the restaurant to add to that feeling of isolation.Lighting
I wanted to take full advantage of the natural light flooding through the windows. The warm tones helped give an almost fantasy like feel to the image. I also tried to get down to her level so that the viewer could share point of view a three year old.Equipment
I used my Canon 650D with no flash or tripod. This was the last time I used my DSLR as I have been using Fuji X systems for the last couple of years.Inspiration
I was watching my niece watching a cartoon on the television which is out of shot in this image. She was standing there still and captivated with what she was seeing. I could see the frame of the shot already in my minds eye. By getting down to her level I was able to show how the furniture around her seemed large like trees and giving the impression that she was standing isolated and alone in a clearing in the forrest of tables and chairs. Framing her in the last third of the image also gave the impression of vastness. The light that was available at that time added to the overall look and feel.Editing
I have been using Adobe Lightroom for all my post-processing and have built my own pre-sets in the process. My typical workflow would be to adjust the exposure, darken the shadows, increase sharpness, balance the colours so that they pop, push up the clarity and deepen the blacks. In my camera bag
I travel light now so mirrorless systems are my preferred equipment nowadays especially shooting street photography and travelling. My camera's of choice are Fujifilm X100S and Fujifilm X-Pro 2 with 35mm F2 prime. Fuji EF-X20 flash and Flash Wave III trigger along with lots of spare batteries.Feedback
My advice can be summed up in my Top 7 Tips.... 1. Find your location and take note of available light. 2. If shooting a night street scene make sure you set your camera’s white balance for artificial light. 3. Always shoot in RAW as it makes it far easier to make fine adjustments in post processing. 4. Frame your shot in your mind first before shooting. 5. Photography works if you have a good composition to spend time getting this right and less time editing. 6. Be patient, a switch off your flash and use the available light to bring your scene to life. 7. Practice low light photography handheld adjusting the ISO according to the light. 8. Bonus tip: It’s not about your gear it’s how you use it. The camera is only a tool as it is your imagination and vision that makes the image. So my final final tip as I sign off, say to your self does this composition and use of available light do the scene justice and helps paint the story? Be patient, observe life as it unfolds around you and capture every moment as if it were your last.
