Location
This photograph had been taken at a secret out crop that had once been a well known party sight for college aged adults and older, but due to a mudslide was less accessible and thus almost forgotten about.Time
I had taken the photo at about two in the afternoon. I had gone with some friends in case anyone fell or got injured. I needed light to take the long shot of the waterfall. I had hoped for a sunny day but I remember it had been cloudy that day and it began to rain shortly after.Lighting
I aimed to take a long shot of the waterfall, to give it a look of being a solid curtain of water. The day had not been ideal but the photograph worked in the end.Equipment
Due to where I had gone, carrying a tripod had been out of the picture. I used my Canon DSLR T3, which I still use to this day. Since I had no tripod, I used a rock to keep the camera still as well as a plugged in shutter button to keep the motion of clicking the one on the camera from affecting the photo.Inspiration
The waterfall had been a town secret for a while. I had always wanted to go there and get a long shot as well as many speedy shots to get the water droplets that came from the falls frozen in place, in mid air as they spewed down and around.Editing
I didn't actually do any post-processing. This is as original and raw as the day I took itIn my camera bag
Normally I have extra batteries, a macro lens, and a telephoto lens. Some smaller supplies are usually lens cloth and lens cleaner.Feedback
Research where you are going first. Some shots are worth getting but the process can be dangerous.
