This ant is sitting on a piece of mangrove root. It is very, very rare to see the ants still with antennas stretched so fine, so I am very happy with this picture and it was worth several hours of shooting before I managed to capture this image. The species is "Camponotus ligniperda" also known as carpenter ant. I used a external flash to capture this image.
