Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in my home studio in Cali-Colombia while enjoying a great coffee with my friend Maria Jose who is the model in this shot.

Time

it was around 5pm in a very sunny and hot day in Cali, a very tropical and inspiring weather we have here all year long.

Lighting

One light strobe setting, i opened the balcony door and placed the light outside at 1/4 power and then closed the curtain.

Equipment

Shot with my old canon 50D, canon 28-135mm ultrasonic lens, and a yongnuo 560 III flash.

Inspiration

It was really the moment, i think there might be nothing more inspiring than having an spectacular cup of colombian coffee with a beautiful woman on a sunny day in your appartment

Editing

There's really not much to it, just some minor color adjustments, dodge and burn and little liquify in photoshop

In my camera bag

I always carry my canon 6D along with my old baby the trusty 50D, my favorite lens for its incredible bokeh the sigma 70-200mm 2.8, my old canon 28-135mm, canon 50 mm 1.4, and my yongnuo 560 V.

Feedback

I think its a shot based on pure inspiration and feeling the moment, tecnically is very easy not much to it, my advise would be to be patient, and always stay in touch with your senses, whenever they tell you is the right moment to take a picture just do it! this is why we do what we do...LOVE, and love creates the most beautiful things in this world!
