Location
I took this photo along the blue ridge parkway in Western North Carolina.Time
It was golden hour just before sunset on a summer day.Lighting
The lighting is always spectacular on the parkway during golden hour. That evening it was backlighting the cyclist as he watched the sun set.Equipment
I shot it with the Sony a7iv paired with the Sony 24mm GM lens. Shot handheld.Inspiration
The backlighting on the cyclist as he watched the sunset over the mountains.Editing
O shoot in raw to capture the most detail. I used Lightroom to edit it. I always try to edit it the way my eyes seen it at the moment. In my camera bag
Sony a7iii, Sony a7iv, Sony 85 f1.8, Sony 24mm f1.4 GM and a Sony 200-600 G lens.Feedback
When I shoot sunsets I never use a tripod or shoot in manual. The reason is the light is changing so fast my eye might catch a different composition. I also don’t have time to try and make settings on the fly so I shoot in Aperature priority mode and let the camera chose the shutter speed because it does an excellent job at it.
