Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture of this blue Dragonfly in my own backyard yard. I noticed him fly in and land on the leaf from a pineapple plant.

Time

I was sitting on my back patio. It was 5:15 pm. I just finished watering the plants in the yard. This dragonfly was dancing in the sunlight. He decided to take a rest on the top of a pineapple plant leaf. I managed to get very close to him. Then he left and came right back several times before I snapped this pic

Lighting

It was 5:30 in the evening in South Florida. I didn't use a flash. But the sun was behind me. Shining onto the dragonfly.

Equipment

I used my Samsung smartphone app. No flash. No tripod. Just cautious approach and slow, steady aim.

Inspiration

I was just soaking in the beautiful day after watering plants. Sitting on the patio. I noticed him fly in and landed, so I made an effort to capture him in a photo.

Editing

Yes, I cropped the photo as well as bringing the dragonfly out a little by highlighting him
