A special thanks to guest judge Lorenz Holder for his collaboration in this photo contest. In Lorenz's words: "I grew up in Munich, close to the Bavarian mountains, and it is those mountains that have always played a major role in my life. I was fascinated by photos that could describe a whole scene, a whole story or even a whole day, in just one small moment caught on film. This fascination was one of the biggest motivations for me to start my career as a professional photographer. Right now I work as senior photographer for Pleasure Snowboard Magazine and as a staff photographer for Nitro Snowboards."
"It was tough, but for me this is the winning shot. The picture is perfect in a lot of ways – The location is awesome by its own, even when I’ve seen a couple of pictures from Baltray Bay before, but this angle is fresh and new. The photographer went there at the perfect time to get the sun just a bit before it went down. Also the fact that he had chosen a longtime exposure to flatten out the water and the sky to make it more clean, worked perfect. A perfect, well thought out photography deserving the 1st. place." - Lorenz Holder
"Who ever has shot pictures while diving, knows how hard it is to get something great and unique. The picture is actually pretty simple with only the sun, a diver, an air-bubble captured in snells window. The idea with the air-bubble was great, it gives the picture the missing thing to be awesome. Comunication with other people under water isn’t too easy, you can’t just tell the diver to move a bit to the left or somewhere else, like you could do above the surface." - Lorenz Holder
"What a great dramatic cloud. The photographer did an awesome job to get this moment in a pretty perfect way. You don’t get the chance to shoot soemthing like this a lot of times, so when you get the chance you have to use your chance and that’s exactly what the photographer did. This photo would have placed a bit better, when I wouldn’t have the feeling that he just pulled of the road and started shooting right away. Just a couple meters more into the field whoud have helped to get a bit more clean forground. But overall an awesome shot." - Lorenz Holder
"This picture is just awesome, technically perfect, perfect light, sharpness, all great. A for sure win, when I wouldn’t have seen this location and camera angle a thousend times before. Please photographers, open your eyes, show us known locations in your eyes, don’t just go there and shoot the same picture like everybody else does. " - Lorenz Holder
