Location
This was taken while on a family holiday in the new Forrest. After a day of hiking, we went to the beach to watch sunset together before heading back for a well earned rest.Time
This was taken as the sun set to the right of the kids. The colour cast was lovely and I managed to capture a rare moment of them being loving to each otherLighting
The colour in the sky was beautiful and helped highlight the blues in their clothes.Equipment
This was shot freehand with a Nikon 5300 and a 50mm lensInspiration
The fact they were being nice to each other after a day of being normal siblings!Editing
Yes, this was processed in Lightroom. Highlights down to saturate the sky further and shaddows up to bring out the kids. A bit of contrast curve and colour balance to sort out their skin from a relatively red light. In my camera bag
I now carry my Nikon Z5 with the trusty nifty 50, a wide angle zoom, and a 35mm. I tend to shoot portraits so the shorter focal lengths and wide aperture help to capture the look I love.Feedback
Don’t be afraid of wide apertures. This was F.2. I love using a narrow depth of field to really bring the subject out of the picture.
