Location

This picture was taken in Nags Head, North Carolina during our annual vacation this year, and is one of dozens I took that morning using both my phone and my Nikon D3200.

Time

One of my vacation rituals is to hit the beach each day before sunrise with my gear and a cup of coffee. Always in search of the perfect shot, I was delighted to see that the sun on the horizon was rising in the company of the most amazing storm cloud, spewing a torrential downpour of rain.

Lighting

The atmosphere was glowing with the soft pink light of the new day. I was glad the storm was far out to sea!
