Location
This picture was taken in the Odenwald forest area in Germany near my house. The great varity of nature in this small place on earth gives a wide range of photographic opportunities and I am proud to call it my home.Time
This was the first location Charlotte (the model) and I decided to shoot. This was mid-day and the lightning and low hanging clouds gave us a beautiful backdrop. Charlotte is a wonderful ballet dancer and I basically just told her "show me some jumping moves and ignore me" :)Lighting
This was shot completely with natural light. We really had luck on that day giving us just the perfect balance between moody but also soft light.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony a7iii with the Sony 85mm f1.8Inspiration
As I first started with photography in mid 2017 I always had the vision to photograph a ballet dancer in nature to showcase the beauty of dance and movement in an outdoor environment. About 2 1/2 years later I felt ready to make my vision come to reality. I am so thankful for Charlotte to help me make this vision come true. I also have to thank her mom which just happened to be a professional hairdresser and makeup artist :)Editing
Yes. My work and style needs of course somehwat of post-processing. In this picture I basically desaturated the colors to give it a more moody look and darkened the surroundings of Charlotte to make her the main focus of the picture. In my camera bag
As I mainly photograph people I have a lot of non camera stuff in my bag. Like a lint roller or a mirror :). I also always have props like fake butterflies, flowers etc. with me :) As far as camera euqipment I always carry my a7iii, 85mm f1.8 and a 35mm f1.4 with me.Feedback
Basically just find a model/ person you would have fun working with and be sure that the lightning (if using natural light) allows fast shutter speeds without sacrificing to much ISO noise. Also fast burst shutters really helps of course to. Just say "jump" :)
