Behind The Lens

Location

Hi! the photo was taken at my grandparents' house in the country. a very old house where we spend some holidays for relaxation. The area is in Arges county, Romania.

Time

the photo was taken on January 5, 2018 at 11.07. it was the last day of the winter vacation before returning to Bucharest.

Lighting

Only natural light.

Equipment

I use a cheap Sony a58 with sigma 70-300 Apo lens. No tripod or any lights because the image is a snapshot.

Inspiration

I am a lover of nature, of animals, I photograph everything related to wildlife or domestic animals and their relationship with people, with the environment created by them. I liked the way the cat, behind the window, was playing hide and seek as if waiting to be immortalized in the photo.

Editing

I use photoshop to highlight color, to improve dynamics by changing shadows and lights, to make crops that better highlight the subject or remove some unwanted imperfections. they do not make complex edits because they are of the opinion that the final form must be as faithful as possible to the immortalized moment.

In my camera bag

I normally use a 70d canon, with 120-400 Apo sigma and 24-70 / 2.8 sigma lenses, a polaroid tripod and goddox flash. but on vacation, my old sony a58 along with the tamron 17-50 / 2.8 lens is much lighter and more versatile.

Feedback

my advice is to always pay attention to what is happening around you, to always have a device or a phone with a good camera at hand. in wildlife photography, or in the one that captures snapshots from everyday life, there are no repeatable moments. you have only one chance and you have to take advantage of it. have a good light!
