Both dancer and photographer showed their skill. Great shot.

Location
This photo was taken near my house on an open stretch of land... I often walk my dogs there and I just remember thinking the next time I had to shoot outside, I should come back as it would look amazing at sunset.Time
We were quite rushed to take the photo as my model landed up arriving late, due to traffic- so we sped to the location and only managed to get around 10 images... this was one of themLighting
The light was so close to dusk, we had so little time to shoot that I really wanted to make each shot count... the little bit of dust that her foot kicked up at the bottom is what I think makes the photo, the way the light hits it.Equipment
I used my canon 5Dmiii I think with a 50mm lens, nothing elseInspiration
I’ve always loved the gracefulness of ballet dancers, they move their bodies in such an extraordinary way. I wanted to shoot one outside the familiar studio setting.Editing
I shot in RAW so I had to do some basic post processing, like contrast, highlights and shadows but that wall all.In my camera bag
I have a 50mm 1.8, a 24-105mm and a 70-200 2.9... as well as my flash and cameraFeedback
Just be present and aware of your surroundings, I don’t think if I’d taken this shot from any other position it would have worked so well.
