As the humidity levels raised, the forest bought precipitation rain and the entire forest went on a buzz. It rained for a substantial time and subdued during the evening hours. When I camped in the site, officials spoke about nocturnal snakes lurking in this forest camp. Croaking frogs, forest crabs, geckos, and smaller reptiles were started to appear in the night. Few rat snakes took a swim in the nearby river and moved to the island. This forest is unknown territory for me, had to take help from one of the camp boys to accompany me. After ascending few yards, found a twig with an unusual shape, I asked the boy do you see this unusual twig here, he said he has not seen something like this so far. It was so still, the wind and our presence didn’t matter to this twisted twig, after examining and the closest approach revealed it was the Malabar Pit Viper. Our approach broke the determination of the snake and it turned viciously towards the camera lens, that’s when I captured this moment.
