The photo of the mother watching me, was taken while her baby (1year old) came so close to me that I couldn’t keep him in focus. Needless to say, I wanted to get up from where I sat but the armed guard ordered me not to move and not to lower my camera but to continue taking photo’s. I focused on the mother and got this beautiful shot while the little one came right up to me and grabbed my lense hood from my lap and dashed back to his older brother that sat on guard about two meters away :) Amazing and humbling experience. Uganda rocks!

Fear :) I sat on the ground shooting a baby gorilla The guards showed me the mother watching me from behind the bush. The little one came so close that I couldn’t keep him in focus. Needless to say, I wanted to get up but the armed guard ordered me not to move, not to lower my camera and to continue taking photos. I got this amazing shot of the mother while the little one grabbed my lense hood from my lap and dashed back to his brother that sat on guard about two meters away. Amazing and humbling experience indeed!Editing
Used lightroom to add a bit of light. In my camera bag
I’m not a professional photographer and for this specific trip, I only packed one midrange lense. I knew that we had to walk over mountainous terrain to get to the gorillas and camera gear can get extremely heavy. Low lighting without a tripod was a daunting prospect. When we arrived at the starting point we where all issued with a designated porter to carry all your gear and the other photographers rocked up with a full kid, tripods included. Next time I will take that in consideration.Feedback
If you are a keen amateurish travel photographer, Bwindi’s mountain gorillas should be on your bucket list. It is a must.
