I was a photographer in the US Navy and based in Hawaii during most of the 1980s. Every Monday morning at 6am, I would be assigned to photograph reenlistment ceremonies onboard the memorial. It was only open to the enlisting members of the military, their guests and me. I took thousands of photos on and around this memorial. I found a faded color negative of one such shot and and digitized it, turned it painterly with selective coloring of the American Flag, and make if available for anyone to download here on Flickr.
