This photo was taken at one of our local hospitals

Time

After a day of labor, little Kali arrived at 1:18 in the morning

Lighting

During delivery you are working with bright spotlights in certain areas, and normal room lights in others, so you have to stay aware of your metering while changing where the camera is pointed.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D700.

Inspiration

I was there for the labor and delivery if Kali and wanted to capture the moment she made her arrival.

Editing

I edited this on both Lightroom and Photoshop. With the subject matter, I wanted to make sure to spotlight her first breath, while trying to keep it modest, and tone down the background activities.

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon D700, along with my Nikon 24-70mm along with my 35mm, but Ive just added a Nikon D3, so it will now be included in the bag.

Feedback

There is so much going on during delivery, so I just try to stay back out of the way, but try to make sure I am in a place to capture all the important details. I make sure I have phone chargers and water, because the wait can take a while.
