Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at my home office on a re-purposed drafting table I have set up as a desk.

Time

Later in the evening.

Lighting

I had taken my glasses and watch off set them down and after turning my desk lamp on I realized that with the the other glasses in the background it would be a neat shot.

Equipment

iPhone 7 Plus

Inspiration

I had been trying to work on more creative photography, this was about the time I was starting to branch out from just doing Automotive Photography, and I thought the glasses are something that's an every day constant for me so I wanted to shoot something artistic but part of who I am.

Editing

I did some cropping and changed it from color to black and white with a few tweaks to the contrast.

In my camera bag

I know people will scoff at it but my iPhone XS currently is a big part of my photography as I not only take pictures with it but also use it for post editing as it's the only device I have to do that on right now. In my bag I have a Sony hx400v, a few batteries, charger, extra SD card, lens hood and a polar filter. Along with my camera stuff I always have a first aid kit, pen/paper and some type of pocket knife or multi tool.

Feedback

Change your perspective and play around with portrait modes, when I shoot cars I often get low shots to give it a more aggressive looking stance, so I tried to do that with this shot. It was kind of an aha moment for me.
