Love the colours in this composite/overhead photo capture. Seems a bit unfocused, in my opinion, yet is still quite lovely to view. Perhaps sharpen and tone the focal points. Highlight the darks.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Playa Del Carmen,Mexico,at the ferry dock.the ferry go’s between playa del Carmen and Cozumel and takes about 30-40 mins travel time.

Time

This was taken early in the am as they were just getting ready to start the days crossing

Lighting

The sun was just above the horizon for this shot,as you can tell from the long shadows,it was also casting a nice warm glow on the dock.

Equipment

This was shot with an inspire 1 UAV at about 100 feet above using the Dji x3 12 mp cmera

Inspiration

I like to fly my inspire early in the morning while there are not so many people on the beach,for safety reasons ,as I was over the dock I pointed the camera down and loved the contrast of the blue/green and yellow

Editing

I took the image into Lightroom and adjusted the basic sliders to my liking,highlights down/shadows up/whites up a little and blacks down a little,some sharpening and some noise reduction.

In my camera bag

Sony A7r 2 and Sony A6000 mavic pro drone and 24-70/70-200 Sony fed lenses ,

Feedback

Of course with the Drone flying in mind,be mindful of any regulations for the area you are flying,also be mindful of any wildlife or groups of people,it is better to not get the shot and be safe,having said that you will get some great shots from a different perspective .
