Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken at the Marina Bay area of Singapore. It was my second visit to Singapore after an absence of about 20 years and I was amazed at how much this area changed with all the modern skyscrapers.Time
It was late afternoon around sunset when I saw this beautiful sunset to inspire me to take the photo.Lighting
A nice golden glow to warm up the surroundings.....as usual for sunset lighting and the golden hour...a foolproof recipe for a pleasing shot.Equipment
I shot this photo with my Panasonic Lumix GX 80 mirrorless camera,on a tripod with a shutterspeed of around 1/60, ISO 200 and f8.Inspiration
I was quite taken aback by how the area was transformed by the skyscrapers and watch how the scene unfolded as the day turned into night with a beautiful sunset and then the buildings lighting up against the night sky.I took several shots of the unfolding drama and this was one of them.Editing
I shoot in RAW and use Lightroom for post processing to achieve a pleasing result.In my camera bag
I switched to mirrorless cameras with the Panasonic Lumix GX 80 and G81 my favourites. I shoot mostly with my Lumix 14-140 and 7-14 zoom and the Lumix 25mm 1.7 prime. I also carry with me the Lumix 100-300 zoom in case the occasion calls for it. I have recently invested in a Lee filter sets and is experimenting with it and having fun.Feedback
An area like the Marina Bay area has lots of modern architectural styles and can offer many opportunities at different times of the day. I am new to photography and find a place like this worth exploring and trying out different shots and compositions. I tried here to compose using foreground and background elements as well as the clouds and sunset lighting to add some drama or atmosphere.
