Dry Tortugas National Park is one of the best kept secrets within the National Park Service. Located almost 70 miles west of Key West in the Straits of Florida, it contains the massive Civil War-era coastal defense fort and former federal prison, Fort Jefferson. 2 lighthouses are located within the park’s borders. The park is also known for its many water recreational activities, history, conservation efforts, shipwrecks, and pure night sky. This photo here was taken to show determination and dominance. The location is at the highest point on the fort (with an 88ft drop straight down), it’s near a flag, and the stance shows accomplishment. The sunset behind shows the efforts were completed in a day. Now the work can end, and rest comes at the end of the day.
