Behind The Lens
Location
This was captured from the coast at Withernsea, East Yorkshire, England. The North Sea is now full of wind turbine installations both inshore and in deeper waters.Time
Mid morning capture. Being directly to the East early morning would mean shooting directly into the sun.Lighting
Natural light with the only control being the time of dayEquipment
Pentax K3 with a 55-300 lens. Hand held but stabilised resting on the sea wall.Inspiration
The challenge was to maximise the effect of correct alignment. Too much separation would isolate the individual towers wheras too little would reduce the visual impact. A perfectly level horizon was essential to correct composition.Editing
I never do post processing apart from a little bit of cropping but try to get it right in camera. In my camera bag
Nowadays I regularly carry my Pentax K3 with my favourite 55-300 but also carry 50mm prime, 50-200, 18-135 and a Tamron 90mm macro. Occasionally I take an Opteka 650-1300 fully manual lens. Hard work but some satisfactory results bearing in mind the £175 price tagFeedback
