Took this photo on my husbands farm about 3 years ago during harvest.Time
This photo was taken in the afternoonLighting
The lighting was quite harsh as it it was a bright clear day, i found i was really working hard to find anything interesting to shoot on this day as im not a huge fan of flat bright lighting. I had to get down almost on the ground to get this shot.Equipment
Nikon, it was taken three years ago and i can't actually remember what camera or lens it was that i had then. I shoot with a Nikon D7200 now.Inspiration
It was my first harvest on the farm and i really wanted to capture the feel of it. I lined this shot up specifically to juxtapose the field bin behind the wheat. My husband was upset with me as it normally the wheat is a bit thicker but this single row of wheat was accidently missed by the header.Editing
There was a little bit of photoshopping done to this, i removed a couple strands of wheat on the sides that were distracting to the overall image. I also played with the colours a bit and gave it a bit more of a mood with the sky.In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D7200, a 50mm 1.8, a 10-17 wide angle and just the standard kit zoom lens which i am hoping to replace one day soon.Feedback
Get creative with locations. Get down on the ground, shoot from below, get in close, shoot from above if you can. Harvest time on the farm has so many possibilities.
