Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the home of another photographer whilst I was doing a natural lighting one on one session.

Time

It was around 10 in the morning, although with the flat light outside it could have been any time :)

Lighting

The whole exercise was shooting in natural light. I generally like a good string sun to give shape but it proves you can get shape on a grey flat day outside also.

Equipment

It was just my canon 550d on a sigma 28-70mm lens

Inspiration

I do like to get female images that aren't overly obvious, less is more and all that. The big woolly jumper made it feel more intimate than just lingerie.

Editing

I always post process images in lightroom and photoshop getting the most out of the RAW image. In this case I also went to black and white, not something I usually go for but felt it works well on this image.

In my camera bag

It's quite a small bag. I do have 2 bodies now, both 760d (gotta love the wifi link up). I have a fixed 50mm, a28-70mm and a 50-300mm lens always. Also in there are a few old fixed lenses with attachment converter. Lighting wise I have an adjustable LED panel in case it's needed and a ring flash.

Feedback

I've found with models getting them to do what they do naturally then directing that to the pose you require gives the best result if you want a natural look. Also a good model is priceless.
