Taken at Tiger Island at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast this was one of the very first photos i took after having bought my camera and was taken before i took any photography courses.Time
Probably one of my favourite photos i had wanted to pat a real tiger and had thought it would never happen. I had the opportunity to not only pat a tiger but also was able to share this with my kids. I had decided to surprise the kids on one of their visits with a trip to Dreamworld and to commemorate the occassion with photos of us with a beautiful tiger. This photo was taken at around 10am during one of the shows on an awesome day which will never be forgotten.Lighting
It was such a beautiful day and being so new to photography i was still on "Auto"Equipment
Taken on a Nikon D3200, no tripod, no flash, 18-55mm kit lensInspiration
I have loved Tigers and Elephants for as long as i can remember so when i had the chance to not only see them and have photos taken with them but to also be able to take my own photos of these beautiful creatures how could i resist. Being one of my passions i admittedly took a lot of photos of tigers on the day and this one was one i cropped to bring him in closer.Editing
This one was quite a nice photo before anything being done to it but I decided I wanted to bring the tiger in closer and so i've cropped the photo which is where the post-processing for this one ends.In my camera bag
I now carry a 35mm lens, 18-55mm lens, 55-300mm lens, 18-105mmm lens, D7200, tripod, flash and remote, spare battery for the D3200 and CPL filters for each lens.Feedback
I only had one battery and the SD card i had was only 4g - personally i would make sure to have a spare battery or even better a battery clip to save having to change the battery. A big SD card - i'm now using a 32g SD card which has room for more than enough photos. I had the camera on "Auto" because i was so very new to photography but i think given this chance again i would switch it to Auto just to make certain i got as many of the photos i was after as i could without missing "the perfect shot". But most of all i would say to just enjoy the day/outing after all ... how often will you get the chance to experience something like this again?
