Location
This photo was taken inside the Black Diamond during a trip to Copenhagen this summer.Time
As far as I remember we got there around noon. It took us quite some time to find a way to the upper level, but in the end it was worth the effort.Lighting
The shot was taken under the given light inside the building. Since it was midday and the building almost entirely consists of glass, lighting wasn’t a big issue.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5100 combined with the 18-105mm kit lens. I didn’t use a tripod, filters or any other equipment.Inspiration
I wanted to capture the beautiful architecture of the railings and the escalators, forming a guitar-like shape.Editing
I wasn’t too happy with the colors in the original image, so I took it to Photoshop and made it black and white, except for the orange lights in the circle to make the image look more alive. In my camera bag
My standard setup is the Nikon D5100 with the 18-105mm kit lens. The same setup I used to take this picture. It's just very versatile and you can adjust very quickly to the scene. I also have a Sigma 10-20mm, if I need a wider angle for architecture or landscapes and a Nikkor 35mm 1.8 for low light and portraits.Feedback
Take your time and look at the scene from different angles! From the lower level, the place looked pretty dull and not special at all, or at least not picture worthy. We walked around the building for quite some time, searching for interesting elements until we arrived at the upper level and randomly found this very interesting structure.
