Location
Photo of Horseshoe Fall of Niagara Falls taken from Canadian side. It was taken during my trip from Philadelphia to Toronto to meet some friends.Time
It was taken around 8:30 in the morning - perfect timing as there were pretty much now crowds and I could pick any place I wanted for the shoot.Lighting
The lighting was just perfect - no direct sunlight and beautiful clouds with great texture.Equipment
Shot with Canon 7D with Sigma 10-20mm lens.Inspiration
Stopped by on my way to Toronto just to snap few shots, but spent more then an hour because the weather and lighting was just perfect. It looked like the Falls were generating all the clouds.Editing
It's a 3-exposure HDR, taken without tripod, so some misalignment is noticeable. In my camera bag
For the most part I travel with kids, so there is whole lots of stuff that I carry with me - starting with iPad, Galaxy Tab and finishing with whole bunch of cables, chargers and batteries. Of course I also carry the most recent camera I have at the moment - currently Canon 6D and usually 2-3 different lenses, with my favorite being Canon 16-35 f2.8. More recently for most shots I just opt-in for my phone - Galaxy Note.Feedback
Try to find your own angle - it could be quite hard considering the number of folks with cameras and phones, but those angles are always there. Pick time when there are no usual crowds - early in the morning is perfect for most of the places.
