Behind The Lens
Location
The place where this photo was taken can be recognised by many people who have been to the Igor Stravinsky square, in Paris (behind Pompidou). I had travelled to Paris with a friend and we agreed that this place could be an ideal background for photoshooting.Time
It was in the afternoon, and something like five or six kids were playing football in the square, running here and there making extremely interesting natural poses...I loved this phto instantly, as I think that it was exactly the right moment taken. The kid is in the air, in the most desirable position, as the lips on the stairs are fully depicted.Lighting
I chose to have a little blurred the figure of the kid so as to emphasize on his flying movement and on the still wall art behind him. The focus mode was set to the ''one shot'' mode, and not to the ''ai servo'' because I didn't mind to have the kid figure sharp.Equipment
I used my DSLR camera with a telephoto lens.Inspiration
The whole square is full of walls with terrific street art works, and as I have always been an admirer of classical photographers of street life (e.g.Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier Bresson) I didn't hesitate to spend a lot of time there, in order to ''catch'' my own street life photo.Editing
Because of the extremely sunny weather that day, the only photoediting I did was to use a ''thin'' filter so that the image would not seem faded. In my camera bag
I carry, always,my DSLR camera Canon EOS1100d, with its kit lens and a Tamron telephoto lens (15-200mm). I usually use the last when ti comes to street photography.Feedback
Photoshhoting children in the street can be very creative. It needs a lot of patience and concentration in order to capture a picture with a nice composition. Many times someone will have to lower so as to obtain interesting points of views and the most important is to be either very communicative or very discreet!
