Location
This phot was taken at Westernport Marina, Victoria,AustraliaTime
It was taken at 10.20pmLighting
It was a full moon and it lit everything beautifully, I was trying to capture beautiful reflections on this perfectly still night with long exposure and also give it a timeless look in black and white.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D750, ISO 100, Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 12 second exposure @20mm and f22 (to get the star bursts) Manfrotto tripodInspiration
It was a beautiful moonlight night and I love the beautiful marinas we have here in Victoria so I wanted to capture something a little different rancher than the usual day light shots which I also enjoyEditing
The main editing was converting it to black and white, a little contrast, blacks and a small amount of sharpening all in LightroomIn my camera bag
As I am a sports photographer I have 3 Nikon D4s all Nikon lenses 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 300 2.8, converters 1.4x, 1.7x, 2x Manfrotto monopod and Lowepro pro tactic 450wFeedback
If you’re trying to capture something similar it will need to be very still waters so you don’t see any movement in the boats due to long exposure and you will get beautiful reflections if you want to get starbursts from lights you will need to stop down to around f16. Go out there experiment and enjoy the process it’s a lot of fun.
