Location
This was taken at Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah VA.Time
It was later in the evening. It was a cold windy day there.Lighting
Nothing special here with lighting. It was overcast which is often an advantage.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 5d mk iii and a 70-200 f/4 L lens.Inspiration
I am a big motorsports guy, so whenever I have a chance to get out to the track, I am there! Most likely with a camera by my side.Editing
I do, sometimes minimal, sometimes alot. Drifting shots don't require much work. Just some slight brightness and color adjustment and this one was good to go.In my camera bag
I am really bad about taking every thing I have with me everywhere, so my bag was probably full here. I had my 5d and 70-200 L in hand but had my 24-105L, 85 1.8 and likely my 50 1.8 aswell in the bag. Extra batteries and cards too.Feedback
Panning shots are one of my favorite shots to take. You must follow your subject at the same speed they are going to capture the blur in the background while keeping the subject in focus. Back button focus and practice have been the two biggest things to help me achieve clean panning shots.
