Location
It was taken in a little rail museum called The Twin Cities Model Railroad Museum in St. Paul, Minnesota (http://www.tcmrm.org/)Time
It was during there annual Night Trains exhibit held every November through February (http://www.tcmrm.org/location-hours/exhibits-events/night-trains/)Lighting
At the Night Trains exhibit, the room lights are turned off and all the trains are lit making quite a impressive display.Equipment
The museum is tripod friendly; I had my camera setup on a tripod that allowed for slower shutter speeds and getting motion streaks from the moving toy trains.Inspiration
It’s visually pretty unique and during a winter in Minnesota Its nice to find something indoors out of the cold to shoot.Editing
This was pretty simple; I made basic adjustments using Lightroom then some additional edits in Photoshop. I also used some contrast adjustments with Topaz Adjust. In my camera bag
My camera is a Nikon D850 and I usually travel with a 24-70mm Nikon 2.8 lens that I used for this picture. I also carry a set of ND filters, a Poloraizer and a Nikon 10mm 2.8mm Fisheye lens that’s small and easy to carry.Feedback
If your after a slower shutter speed to show motion you definitely need a tripod and that’s about it.
