Location
It was an old barn in a farmers field a few miles from my home. About two kilometers outside of St. Joachim Ontario, Canada.Time
It was late in the afternoon after a hard rain.Lighting
I've been thinking about taking more shots of this old barn and after a really hard rain, I drove back to place it in the foreground with a beautiful, colourful sky. The colour photo is equally pleasant to me.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3200 18-55 mm kit lens on a cheap tripod. Nothing special, just composed the shot the best I could using rule of thirds.Inspiration
I walked around the wet field to a spot where I could place the barn in a third with a beautifully lit sky. My shoes were covered in mud but felt it was worth it!Editing
The image is processed in Lightroom only. I did bracket the shots, three in all with two stop exposures. Merged in Lr using HDR.In my camera bag
My D3200 with kit lens and 85 mm macro. Also a 50 mm prime lens and tripod.Feedback
When you see the clouds and sky look interesting, early or late in the day is the best light. Have a place or object in the back of your mind ready so when the time comes you can grab the moment.
