Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in London. I looked up and loved the shape of the buildings and the sky flowing through them. In this case, I knew I had a great photo just in that moment.Time
It was taken at 15:30 during a surprisingly hot july day in London.Lighting
I got lucky because the sky wasn't clear but it wasn't completely overcast neither. I think those scarce cloud really make the shot.Equipment
This picture was taken with a Pentax K100D Super, my former camera, a 6mpx camera that I bought really cheap and I learned a lot with it. The lens was a Tamron 18-250mm f3.5-5.6, an "all terrain" lens perfect for traveling light.Inspiration
I am always looking for a different angle, trying to think what most people wouldn't think about. When I was walking towards this buildings, I knew what I had to do. I really love abstract arquitecture photography.Editing
In this case I used Lightroom to bring up the exposure and shadows a bit, then finished it in Silver Efex pro for the B&W.In my camera bag
I always pack my Pentax 5IIs, the Tamron 18-250mm f3.5-5.6, and my beloved Pentax FA 50mm f1.4. Slik tripod and gorilla pod when I don't have the big one. Also a couple of Yongnuo flashes with remote triggers.Feedback
Always look for a different approach to your surroundings. Try different lenses, different subjects, different angles... There is always something interesting to photograph... people, textures, details, buildings, silouettes...
