Te whanga o Hiruharama - (Jerusalem Bay) Christianity became part of the Māori Cultures every day life in the 1800's my ancestors often took a name from out of the bible translated it from English or Hebrew to Te Reo o ngā Tupuna (language of our Ancestors) and would give that name to the area where they lived and where the missionary's where situated but at the same time still retaining the original name of that area. the first name of this bay is Te Whanga o te Tomo (Cave Bay) as there is a lot of burial caves around that area. Just in shoot there is the back end of a Swan looking for food with it's head under the water. Lake Taupo New Zealand.
