Location
This photo was taken along nature trail by my house. I am always going around finding new locations to shoot.Time
This is one of my favorite pictures I've taken. The shoot itself was pretty difficult for me due to the lighting and many shadows in the area we were at. It was around 5 pm and we were moving around everywhere through bushes and trees to get just the right lighting. I remember taking quite a few pictures before i was finally happy and i ended up loving how this photo turned out.Lighting
The area we choose to shoot at was pretty blocked off by the sun and was basically covered by trees. The shadows were everywhere and it was really difficult to find a good place to get the light right. We finally found a clearing where the light was hitting just right. Lighting is the most difficult yet most important part about a picture and I would say just to keep moving around and trying different angles to get it just right.Equipment
This image was shot with my Canon EOS Rebel t5i using my EF 75-300 mm f/4-5.6 III zoom lens. This is my go to lens and use it more than any other.Inspiration
I always try to find a natural looking nature spot to shoot at but this time I wanted something moodier. The model had dark hair and makeup which fit perfectly with what i was trying to create. We went into the woodsy area with little color and it was perfect. I wanted to create a captivating image that was less bright and cheery than my usual pictures filled with bright colors and smiling models.Editing
The only post processing done to this picture was skin smoothing and a little bit of eye brightening. Nothing else about the image was edited, it came out looking just how I wanted it to.In my camera bag
In my bag I always carry my canon rebel t5i, it being the only camera I currently own. I also always have my 18-55 mm lens and my all time favorite 75-300 mm lens. I also bring along my tripod if I know I'll really need it but I usually shoot without one.Feedback
I would say to have an idea in your head of what you want you image to look like and set out to capture it. Don't settle, keep working to get the right lighting and and angles. Don't be afraid to lay on the ground or get up in a tree. I remember having to balance myself between a tree and a rock to get this shot, its not easy but you can do it if you want it enough.
