This photo was taken in my home studio in my apartment.Time
This taken inside on the couch with natural light coming to the right. It was around 3 in the afternoon.Lighting
Natural light was coming in through the large window to my right. Yoda and I had been practicing his commands and I decided I wanted to put his brand new bow tie on him and try and see what kind of shots I could get.Equipment
Sony a100. No flash.Inspiration
Yoda was a puppy at the time, only a few months old. I had the need of wanting to do a little shoot and he was new. So we practiced our commands and put the bow tie on and kept practicing. This time, with the camera in my hand.Editing
Only a little. I use Photoshop Elements 13. I bring out the contrast and cropped a little. In my camera bag
If I'm planning somewhere I will grab my Canon Rebel, but if it's just a quick trip I always have my mirrorless Samsung.Feedback
Practice getting your pets to sit and he calm before you do all the work to get your equipment out. You also, won't always get perfect shots everytime you try and do a session. Pets have their own personality, and sometimes they just are not going to listen and do what you want. They don't have a vision like you. Just keep practicing with the same pets. Even if you end up with only one great photo from a shoot where you too hundreds of pictures, it's a win. Cherish the photos you love. Especially of your pets. To me, my pets are my family.
