Location

This photo was taken at the back gate entrance to back yard.

Time

We specifically waited until just after dusk to take this series of shots.

Lighting

The shot was taken with a Wistro AC360 with an octo box.

Equipment

I used my favorite combo, a Canon 70D and a Canon 70-200 2.8 L. Flash Kit - Wistro AC360 with an octo box.

Inspiration

My wife has always had a passion for both photography and studio makeup. Throwing our talented daughter into the mix just seemed like the perfect combination.

Editing

Some post processing with Photoshop CC to adjust portions of the light source.

In my camera bag

Because we generally shoot sports photography professionally, you will always find a Canon 70-200 2.8L and the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. The body of choice is the Canon 70D, the focus is fast and extremely precise.

Feedback

Shooting children especially in this type of setting requires a complete explanation to the child of exactly what you are trying to accomplish. Practice expressions and poses prior to the session since your natural light is very limited closer to dark.
