Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken while vacationing at my cabin in fairmont hot springs, BC.Time
Taken in the dead of night just before the moon peaked out over top of the mountain which would be located right behind where the photo was taken.Lighting
The lighting was particularly tricky at this time of night as the moon was about to rise any minute. When the moon comes out, the night lighting it would give off would have ruined this nighttime photo.Equipment
To take this photo I used my Canon 70D with Joby tripod. I also used my iPhone connected to my camera with the trigger trap cable.Inspiration
I took this photo because it was the last day of my trip which had been quite cloudy the whole time and this particular night had been not entirely cloudy. It was clear enough for me to take this photo of the stars.Editing
Surprisingly this photo required little post-processing. All that I did was do basic changes. In my camera bag
The things I always have are as followed: Joby Tripod, Canon 70D, TriggerTrap Remote Cable, 100mm Macro Lens, and a 18-135 mm lens.Feedback
The biggest peice of advice to take these types of photos is to do it in a remote location away from light pollution cause by densely populated areas. Another tip of advice is to definitely use a remote shutter release so that you have more creative control over your images while also not shaking the camera when clicking the shutter button.
