I took this photo at a great nature preserve with a rich history here in Buffalo NY. Tifft Nature Preserve has gone from dairy farm, to a city dump in the 50's and 60's, but the 70's brought change to Tifft and we now have 264 acres dedicated to the conservation and protection of the environment and animals that migrate to this preserve. Many of my BEST photography shoots happen here and Tifft has featured a couple of my photos on their site as well.Time
Just as the sun was starting to set over Lake Erie, the light off of the lake came through the trees in the preserve JUST PERFECT!Lighting
I absolutely love when the remains of a summer flower lay bare in the sunset of an autumn day. I saw this and it just felt right, so I had to stop and capture this moment.Equipment
All I have are my trusty Nikon D7000 with my one and only Nikkor 18-105mm, neck strap!Inspiration
I was hiking with my family. We had seen a 10 point buck earlier. Beautiful Doe. Geese. It was on a portion of the hike that we had walked off of the path and as I approached this image the more I needed to capture it.Editing
Lightroom is a friend to many. I found a preset that gave it a vintage wash that only enhanced the beauty I intended to capture. In my camera bag
Camera. Lens. Cleaning supplies. My 300mm lens recently bit the dust and so I'm just a little lighter! As you can see, it really has no effect on my photography, it just pushes me to work better and smarter I think.Feedback
You have to "feel" it when it's "right". Take a lot of pictures! Get on the ground! Get "into it"! Also patience is key, you need to have some for yourself and your subject. Lastly, have Fun!
