Congratulations!!!...Your photo, "A Girl and Her Horse" is the Grand Prize Winner in the "I Love Horses!" Photo Challenge!!!...I must tell you it was extremely difficult to judge this Challenge. There were so many very high quality images. Yet "A Girl and Her Horse", with a powerful composition and relevance to the theme, strong leading lines, lovely framing and soft lighting came out the winner! Your photo evokes a love that warms the heart. The exposure, focus and color create a soft, homespun presentation that brings to mind a Norman Rockwell painting!... Very well done!!!

Location
This Photo was taken at our local horse show in Sunrise, FL. If I'm not able to ride in the show, then I enjoy going and capturing the moment for the girls at my barn.Time
It was taken around 10:00am.Lighting
I don't recall if the clouds were casting a shadow at the time, or if the subjects were standing in the shade out of the direct sunlight. Whichever the case, it seemed to work out in my favor with no harsh shadows or glaring sun rays.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS REBEL T2i, with a 55-250 Canon Zoom Lens. Aperture: f/7.1 ISO: 500 Exposure: 1/400Inspiration
I was actually standing a good distance away watching another girl in the show ring when I looked back to check on my daughter who I had left with the owner of this horse. I happened to turn at the right time to catch them nestled up to each other. The horse, Brandy, was returning the affection playing with my daughter's shirt and pressing her face against my daughter's torso.Editing
The only post-processing I did was enhance the colors to make them a little bolder. I have the raw image on my wall as well, but I thought for contests and challenges the bolder image stood out a little better. In my camera bag
It all depends on what I set out to capture. I have a variety of lenses and every day learn more and more with each one. I love having my zoom lens for instances like these, where the subject has no idea their picture is being taken. I love taking action shots and it helps having the zoom so I don't have to be as close to my subject to capture the moment. My newest lens is my 100mm Macro. I love it and am having so much fun with it! I also enjoy learning more about portraits with my 50mm. I'm not a fan of taking portraits, but its fun to learn how to get the right shot.Feedback
As creepy as it sounds, I like to "lurk in the background" in order to capture these moments. I enjoy being able to grab the raw emotion of a particular instant. I have asked for a reenactment of a cute moment, but the pureness of those photos are meek in comparison.
