Location
This photograph was taken at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Connecticut. There is a fabulous stone bridge that sits over a small pond that is home to geese, ducks, and an occasional crane in the park.Time
This was taken in early afternoon.Lighting
Lighting this day was so wonderful. We had a lot of clouds that day, keeping sun and shadows at a minimum. This was taken shortly after a small rain storm that sent us scurrying to my car to wait it out.Equipment
Canon 60D with a canon135mm lensInspiration
This great young lady is such a natural to photograph. She poses so well. I loved how the rustic "daisy mae" kind of boots and tank look went well with the natural backdrop and popped off of the stone bridge.Editing
I usually input my raw photos into Lightroom to bring out more colors to my backgrounds and make the landscape "pop" more.In my camera bag
Always carry my canon 60D, Canon 135 mm lens, Canon 300mm lens, Sun Hood, Speedlite 430EXII external flash, lots of sd cards, extra canon batteries, and a reflector shield.Feedback
Don't go into it determined to get a person to pose a certain way or have to get a shot in one specific location. Work with the lighting, work with the personality of the person you are photographing, be flexible. I find that if the subject of my photo is having a good time, we get a more genuine smile and a happier client all around.
