Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in my neighborhood park in Brooklyn, NY. There was a drain problem in this area, so everytime after the rain, I checked the paddle for my photo shoot. My favorite place to shoot the reflection, but it's gone. The drain problem has been fixed...

Time

Around six thirty in June. I shot many like this.

Lighting

After the rain with a lot of cloud with some part of a blue sky. There was no harsh light. It was pretty natural light.

Equipment

My old Canon EOS 20D, which I have sold with Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 (at 32mm). Handheld, no flash.

Inspiration

This had been my favorite spot to shoot after rain because it was always a big paddle with interesting reflection. On that day, when I was shooting pictures, two teenagers came by their bikes to play with splash repeatedly circulating in the paddle. This is one of many photos I took. I like this one best because other photos had more ripples with no clear silhouettes of them.

Editing

I took raw images, but I didn't do retouching and there is no trimming. Actually, I prefer black and white version here. https://www.viewbug.com/photo/56635601 I enhanced black.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 6D with Canon 40mm F2.8 lens.

Feedback

Somehow always be prepared for unexpected and deal with it. Go back as many as you can to the favorite spots.
