I took this photo of my beautiful girl Asha sunning herself on our bedroom spa deck.Time
The photo was taken around 9am in the morningLighting
Our bedroom deck is always drenched in sunlight in the mornings. Sometimes it can be a bit harsh, depending on what time of the morning.Equipment
I used my Sony Alpha A77 with a zoom lense. No tripod as I needed to get very low and lye in front of Asha to get the shot.Inspiration
Every morning Asha likes to lye on the Spa Cover on our bedroom deck and soak up the sunshine. She always looks so beautiful in the sunlight with her coat shining and she is so relaxed. This particular morning I was inside and spotted her through the door and could not believe she was actually using her paw to shield the sun from her eyes. So I had to sneak up on her and hope that she wouldn't move position when she saw me crawling towards her.Editing
Yes, I had to crop the photo and reduce the exposure slightly. I also sharpened her eyes slightly. In my camera bag

Move very slowly so as not to disturb the moment. Set the shutter speed fast enough so that any sudden movement does not blur the shot. Also I always have my drive set on high to increase the chances of a clear shot. Last not least get down down to be at the right angle, even lying on your belly for this one.
