This is stunning to say the least! Not the usual mantis shot. The background is surreal

Location
This was taken in my backyard in wild and wonderful West Virginia. As I was experimenting with lighting and bokeh. When the perfect model ( the praying mantis) appeared for a photo shoot!Time
As I was enjoying my morning cup of tea and the new day. I was watched the sun just rising over the mountains and how its rays were now coming through the leaves on the trees. I was intrigued to grab my camera and experiment with capturing some bokeh. Being a self taught photographer, learning to capture bokeh was on the list to learn. And this particular morning was perfect for just doing that! And when the praying mantis showed up, it became the perfect foreground model to show off the bokeh!Lighting
Looking and waiting for great lighting in a photograph makes for a great photo.Equipment
I captured this photo using a Canon 7D , 50 mm 1.8 lens and a homemade paper shape filter.Inspiration
I was wanting to learn and experiment taking photos with bokeh and trying different bokeh shapes.Editing
This photo was toned in lighted room.In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 7D body usually with the Canon 24-70mm L lens attached. Just cause its my landscaping lens for on the go. But I never leave home without my Canon 70-200mm L lens. Which is my favorite of all my lenses. And my bag is never without my Canon 100 mm Marco lens. Of course extra batteries and compact flash cards are a must.Feedback
Experimenting and having fun trying new shapes and subjects.
