Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on a overlook of Emerald Bay, California. We got up extra early to catch the morning light and were surprised to get caught in gusting winds

Time

This was early morning, just after dawn

Lighting

Morning light from this side of the lake is superb in the morning. I wanted the long shadows and dawn glow.

Equipment

I always prefer natural light. This was taken with no tripod, on my Nikon Z5 with am 85mm lens.

Inspiration

My sister and step mom wanted to have some summer shots done so we planned a trip to Lake Tahoe

Editing

I always post-process in Adobe Lightroom Classic.

In my camera bag

I probably carry too much in my backpack. Batteries of course. I generally have amy wide angle and telephoto lens on hand as well.

Feedback

My personal style is always more natural and candid. To get those I continue clicking between poses. I also make a lot of jokes to get people laughing. The best smiles come from genuine laughs.
