Behind The Lens

Location

In the fields above Liddington just outside Swindon, this may be just a stones throw from the Hustle and bustle of a busy town, but as you can see, it is a place where we can run free

Time

On the hottest day of the year so far, we didn't venture out until late afternoon so this was taken around 1700hrs on a beautiful Sunday afternoon

Lighting

All I can say about the lighting is that I tried to ensure the sun was behind me so that there were no unwanted shadows, nature took care of the rest

Equipment

The only equipment was my Sony camera and the enthusiasm of my staffie

Inspiration

Ooooh so the picture is of our rescue staffie, and she has only been with us a short time so we are still learning what her behaviours are and what she loves (and loathes) and whilst seeing what her recall was like, I realised that she has the best staffie smile when she's running so this inspired me to try to capture it, and I think I managed - but will keep trying to perfect this as I love this angle

Editing

The only thing I did was a slight crop

In my camera bag

My camera, my backup camera (I once had a camera freeze at a wedding and didn't have a spare - rookie error!!) 2 spare charged batteries for each, memory cards, cleaning cloths (various), macro lens (that I have never used!) Packet of mints, a pocket full of dog treats, and that's about it

Feedback

Keep the sun behind you, find a safe place to run, send your dog off to play, lie down on your front, call your dog, and prepare to laugh so much you will likely cry. So much fun for both (and for any bystanders too apparently)
