Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken on a very busy street, in Poole, UK. On my first trip there my love and her mom took me to this lil town and was magical.

Time

This was taken just past afternoon, there was a lot of people out, even with the pandemic. Remember just walking by it and my love telling me how as a child she spent a lot of time there, at the time her best friend owned the place and she would stay there while her parent were working. I had to snap a shot of it.

Lighting

Was a rather cloudy summer day that day, light was not the best for any shots, one minute there was a ray of sunshine the next there was non. I had to just try anything.

Equipment

Was just walking with my camera, had no tripod or anything. There was a lot of people too, so had almost no space or time for set up. I remember just leaning against a garbage bin (yes garbage bin) and waited for a opening.,

Inspiration

Besides the fact that this place just stands out!... the simple fact that was a place where the woman I love spent so much time as a child, had to be something I had to capture forever.

Editing

Used Adobes camera RAW and photoshop to get the colors right.

In my camera bag

Well things have changed a lot since then. I now carry a Sony A7 RIV, a portable tripod, and one of my drones. On a recent trip I made to Bournemouth UK, I had the A7RIV, a FE 2.8/24-70 GM, a FE 1.4/24 GM and my Mavic air. With extra batteries and things.

Feedback

Patience, in busy streets specially. It will be a challenge but once you find the place or subject you want to capture, it all will be worth it. Be creative! I don`t follow many rules, never had even as a kid, I just imagine what the shot could look like and go for it.
